Glorifying God...Expanding His Kingdom

Weekly Announcements

From the December 9, 2018 Bulletin

Announcements

Childcare – We have preschool care during the worship services for preschoolers ages 0-5 in our nursery area (rooms 105-106.)  Children grades K-4 will stay with their parents during the song service, then they are dismissed to children’s church before the message.  You must pick up your child from children’s church after the service in Room 207.

Hope Center Toy Drive – We are collecting toys for the Hope Center’s 2018 Christmas Toy Giveaway.  Put your toy in the collection barrel in the foyer today, December 9.  They will be picking the toy barrel up tomorrow, December 10.  They say their most urgent need is for larger toys for boys and girls ages 1-12.  They like to give every child 1 large gift rather than several small stocking stuffers.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering – In December we will be receiving our special offering, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.  One half of the budget of the International Missions Board comes from this offering.  You may give your offering any Sunday in December by placing it in a special envelope or a regular envelope marked “Lottie Moon Offering.”

Church Christmas Card Delivery – We will deliver Christmas Cards to regular attending church members and attenders again this year.  Put your cards in the box in the foyer before Sunday, December 23.  Place your $0.25 donation per card in the donations box.  Check the delivery box regularly for cards given to you.

Co-ed Volleyball – If you want to play on the church Co-ed Volleyball Team sign up on the bulletin board.  Games are on Thursday nights at the Roxana City Hall Gym.  You must be age 16 and up to play.  Games started November 29.  Call Cindi Martin for details.

Youth Christmas Party – The Youth Christmas Party will be on Wednesday, December 19th from 6 – 8 pm.  Please let Donna or Sue know if you will attend.  Please bring a $5 gift exchange.

Pastor Search Committee – We want to share the people that have agreed to serve on your pastor search committee:  Joyce Milligan, Brad Gaines, Dennis Emmons, Amanda Cavanaugh, Jan Timmins, Dennis Schillinger, and Sue Keener.

“Let All You Do Be Done in Love”

1 Corinthians 16:14

Grave Plots Available – Our church has been gifted 8 cemetery plots at Valhalla Cemetery.  The church is selling them for a total cost of $1600 for a pair on a first come first served basis with the proceeds going into the Benevolence Fund.  If interested, contact Kevin Shelton, the Trustee Chairman at 618-444-3731, or Brad Gaines, Trustee Member at 618-531-6634.

Keenagers – The Keenagers will not meet during the month of December.

Choir Christmas Cantata - The Adult Choir along with the Children’s Choir will present the Christmas Cantata next Sunday morning, December 16 at 10:45 am in the morning worship service.  No nursery or children’s church will be provided during this service.  Your child should sit with you.  There is a speaker in the foyer if you need to take your child out during the cantata.

Family Christmas Caroling – Next Sunday evening, December 16 at 4:00 pm the entire family is welcome to join us as we go Christmas caroling for some of our senior adults.  We will have a soup and sandwich meal when we return.  Please bring soup or sandwiches for the meal.

Youth Lock-In - There will be a youth lock-in on Friday, December 28th from 8 pm-7 am.  Please let Donna Gaines or Sue Keener know if you will be able to attend.  Any adult that wouldn't mind taking a shift through the night or might be willing to provide a snack, please let them know also.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Centrifuge Youth Fundraiser - Please feel free to pick an envelope off the board in the entry hallway that has an amount already written on it.  If you would please place that amount in the envelope and put it in the offering, all that money will go towards our youth Centrifuge account.  We will be collecting until the envelopes are all gone, or at least until May.  Thank you for all of your support and generous donations!
